I was looking for an excuse to doodle. My friend Grant Nelson from the Network Advertising Initiative was looking for an excuse to code. We decided to combine our interests by putting together Privacy Bingo, a collection of tropes and buzzwords that come up in seemingly every privacy panel and discussion. Attendees can play a web-only version of the game at the 2017 IAPP Global Privacy Summit.

With the White House’s Big Data and Privacy Review anticipated any day now, I figured it was long past time to put together a quick #bigdataprivacy bingo card. If you go to enough privacy (or big data) events and workshops, you’ll quickly realize how many of the same buzzwords and anecdotes get cited over and over . . . and over again. In the battle between privacy and innovation, bingo may be the only thing that wins.
I didn’t have much time this week to gather my thoughts on the Supreme Court’s handling of the Proposition 8/DOMA arguments (yet I did find time to doodle caricatures of the justices), but I thought some of the quotable highlights coming out of oral arguments were pretty priceless.
